Tabarca is a small island in the Mediterranean sea, its Spanish name is Isla de Tabarca, located near Santa Pola and from Alicante just 20 km to which it belongs administratively. In ancient times there was a prison there. The port divides the island into two parts, the western one occupied by about 80 people living permanently, and east where we can find dune vegetation.
In the inhabited part there are numerous restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, houses in its original architecture, the old market, church and museum. The people there live mainly from tourism, every year thousands of people visit this island to admire the climate there and rich Spanish cuisine serving Mediterranean dishes. You can reach the island every day with cruises from Santa Pola and Alicante all year round.
It is worth visiting this place to relax and get away from everyday life. Peace and quiet and lots of sun causes many of us to come back there many times. We invite you to visit.
