Every year in Spain, the tradition is to celebrate the arrival of summer on the night of St.John’s. Local residents traditionally went to the village on June 23 for a ceremonial dinner: they feasted delicacies from their land, and at midnight they lit bonfires and danced around them, released fireworks and swam in the sea. This custom lasted for years, and in 1928, fiestas of San Juan Fuels were formally established. For a few days, this great tribute to the fire is celebrated, bonfires and huge cardboard and wooden figures that burn on the night of San Juan.
It is worth seeing this spectacular show!
